SPRING SWING 2011

Rescheduled for Saturday, June 25

A Senior project coordinated by:

Bereniz Reyes, Kip Slusher & Rosa Tafoya

Date:

The 2011 Spring Swing took place on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Colockum Ridge in Quincy.

Registration:

Cost for the tournament was $75 per player and included a BBQ lunch and drink. Click here for a registration form

Tournament Format:

• The tournament was a 4-person best ball Texas Scramble. Click here for complete rules.

New this Year:

Buy a Mulligan:
A mulligan, most simply put, is a "do-over." Hit a bad shot? Take a mulligan and replay that stroke. Your mulligan ticket must be used for a tee shot and cannot be used on the hole-in-one hole. Cost is $5 per Mulligan.

String it Out:
Sometimes called simply "String" players may purchase string prior to the round's start in 1” segments, up to 15”. Cost is $1 per inch. The string can be used at any time during the round by a player who wants to improve his lie. Example: Your ball is sitting down in heavy rough, but if you could move it just one foot, you'd have a great lie. OK, take out your length of string, string it out in the direction you want to move the ball. If the string reaches the point where you'd like to place your ball, you can move the ball. The catch is that each time you use your string, you must cut off the amount of string corresponding to the distance your ball was moved. Move your ball six inches to get out of a bunker, cut six inches off your string (a ball can be moved out of any hazard other than a water hazard). The string can be used at any time, but, obviously, must be used judiciously or it runs out pretty quickly.

50/50 Raffle:
We will be conducting a 50/50 raffle at this year’s tournament. Tickets cost $1 each and may be purchased at the registration desk. The holder of the winning ticket will receive 50% of the cash raised. Drawing will take place at the completion of the tournament.
