What:
Red Wine and Blues was an evening of fine food, rockin' music and
great friends, all on over 200 acres of lush green grass. With all
that room there was more than enough space to spread out, do some
dancing and enjoy a beautiful summer evening in the Columbia Basin.
This
year we were happy to bring back Wenatchee artist,
Kerry
Siderius. Kerry had her artwork on display and
available for purchase. Also onsite for the evening was
local artist, Debby Kooy, of
Blue Star
Art & Pottery Works. Debby brought her potting wheel so
participants could watch her create her beautiful (and functional)
works of art. A portion of their proceeds for the
evening went to the Hospital Foundation.
Also available this
year was blind wine tasting. For a small fee, guest were able to taste five red and/or five white wines and choose their
favorite. The winners of this year's wine tasting were:
Best Merlot -
Mercer Estates
Best Riesling -
Arbor Crest Wine Cellars
Congratulations to
these two wineries!
Proceeds
from the 2009 event will go towards the purchase of a
Bone Density
machine for the Quincy Valley Medical Center.
