Botox

What is Botox?  BOTOX Cosmetic diminishes or eliminates so-called dynamic wrinkles in the face. BOTOX Cosmetic acts by relaxing the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. BOTOX Cosmetic is injected into the muscle and prevents the muscle from contracting by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscle. Because the muscle cannot contract, the wrinkle relaxes.

BOTOX Cosmetic is mainly used to treat dynamic wrinkles in the upper third of the face. However, many physicians use it to cosmetically treat other areas of the face and neck. Moreover, BOTOX Cosmetic has also been used to treat migraine headaches and even excessive underarm sweating.

How many treatments will I need? Usually, one treatment is all that is needed, and the effect lasts for 3-6 months.

How much do Botox cosmetic injections costs?  Injections can range from several hundred to several thousands of dollars, depending on the number of areas that are injected. Cost is determined by number of units used. During your consultation, a plan will be developed and costs will be outlined. To maintain the effect, injections need to be repeated, at additional costs.

Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers? Dermal fillers are substances injected just below the surface of the skin to fill in lines, wrinkles, and scars. Unlike face lifts that stretch the skin, fillers add volume for a more natural, youthful appearance. The most common areas treated are:

  •       smile lines around the nose and mouth

  •       fine lines above the mouth

  •       frown lines between the eyes

  •       acne scars

How many treatments will I need? Depending on the area treated, most folds and wrinkles require one treatment. The repeat maintenance is not usually required for six months or longer.
